Fever Crumb

By Philip Reeve
So, if you're a regular reader of my blog you'll know my son is in process of reviewing the Mortal Engines series of books but I thought I go right back to the prequels and go from there in order. Maybe this book is littered with 'aha' moments but I won't know for a while. I do have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in the series. It's a weird world, its London, but not the London we know. The names have shifted. Like its set hundreds of years from now, for example, the is Ox Fart Circus and the Orbital Moatway.

Synopsis

An Abandoned Baby hides an explosive truth.
Thousands of years from now, Fever Crumb is rescued from the ruins of London by some eccentric Engineers. Could her mysterious powers be the key to saving their city?
Fever Crumb is the first of Philip Reeve's sensational prequels tothe mortal engines quartet, one of the greatest fantasy worlds ever created.
