By Rudyard Kipling
I've always loved The Jungle Book. It was one of my favourite movies as a kid and with going to Cubs and Scouts as a kid, of course the whole thing is particularly special for me.
What I didn't realise was that the story of Mowgli is one of a few short-stories that actually make up The Jungle Book. The book I read included Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, Toomai of the Elephants, The White Seal and Her Majesty's Servants.
The new movie blew me away and was the kick I needed to get reading this piece of classic literature.
Synopsis
The Jungle Book introduces Mowgli, the human foundling adopted by a family of wolves. It tells of the enmity between him and the tiger Shere Khan, who killed Mowgli's parents, and of the friendship between the man-cub and Bagheera, the black panther, and Baloo, the sleepy, brown bear, who instruct Mowgli in the Laws of the Jungle.Author
