By David Walliams
Hastings District Library category say “Read a book” this is my chose of “book”. It’s David Walliams’ first children’s novel entitled Boy in a dress. I’ve chosen this book, of all of David Walliams’ successes because I happened to come across the DVD that I would share with my students once we’ve read the book. But I had to confirm the book was ok. It is after all entitled Boy in the Dress and I’ve been known to have shared Bill’s New Frock not so long ago. But it’s a very lovely story about a boy who feels different from his football-loving father and brother. A boy who deals very differently with his mother’s abandonment than the rest of his family. It celebrates individuality.Synopsis
