Here goes

I always make myself wild promises about writing a meaningful blog. I always come up with different ideas but nothing seems to stick. Nothing seems to be sustainable. I always feel like a failure if I don’t post something often enough. But who’s to say how often is often?

I’ve recently joined the Hastings Library BookClub; its small at the moment, two librarians and three members of the public. But I feel like I need a hobby, to chat with new people, share an interest. Books are it.

There’s a guy there who reads ferociously, he shared four or five books he’s read. There’s no way I can compete with that. I’ll be lucky to get through one each week.

But provided I don’t choose Tolstoy or Edward Rutherfurd I should be able to manage that… here’s hoping at least.

It is my intention to share, here on this blog, that book I chose.

The first book I chose was from the selection of new books they have spread out on the coffee table. It’s called “Playing with Fire” by Gerald Elias. It’s only 200 odd pages. I’ve got 30 days to read it. Here goes…

...wish me luck.
